One of the classics in the French cycling calendar this is usually a brutally competitive early season race which includes the notorious pavé, cobbled roads which are ill-suited to finely-tuned racing bikes or athletes
The 2012 event is on 7 april 2013 It is cobbled lanes for nearly 60km of the 260km course which usually starts in Compiegne (60 Oise, Picardie) and finishes in Roubaix north of Lille (59 Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais).
