An initiative supported by the Vignerons-Independents (independent winemakers) involves 700 domaines across 31 départements who will provide a tidy area for your picnic (bring your own picnic lunch) and offer a tasting of their wines – Pique-Nique chez le Vigneron Indépendant
The Vignerons-Independents is an organisation for wine makers who are part of co-operatives, negociants or large industrial style companies – they are mainly family concerns, producing well-crafted wines, seldom seen in supermarkets.
This is open to everyone – so look out for the participating domaines!
Every year there are Independent Wine Makers Fairs across France, which are another great way to get to know the wines of France!
