Under the title of la Louche d’Or (the Golden Soup Ladle) the town of Wazemmes near Lille (59 Nord, Hauts de France) holds the anniversary of an international soup festival on 1 May 2024! Designed to celebrate the art and skill of making good soup, the festival attracts soup-creators from around the world – offering sometime bizzare recipes from both professional chefs and keen amateurs. The streets are filled with music, dancing and the smell of interesting concoctions!
The festival isn’t just about the food, it’s a street party with local bands and artists travelling from across the globe. Audience participation is a must: not only can you go and whip up your own favourite soup recipes for the crowd, but you can also perform as well. For more info see http://lalouchedor.com/
