In the attractive town of l’Isle sur la Sorgue (84 Vaucluse, Provence PACA) to the east of Avignon there will be an International Antiques Fair (Foire Internationale Brocante & Antiquités)

  • Easter 29 – 31 March 2024 and in  autumn in August
  • 29 October – 1 November 2022 (including upcycling)

There is an Antiques market in the town on Thursday and Sunday mornings in summer, and the town has built its reputations as one of the best places for Antiques throughout the whole of France. But there is much more to the place than that – as the name implies the  town is surrounded buy the waterways of the River Sorgue – creating a wonderfully cool atmosphere when the Provencal sun is at its hottest – with bridges, watermills – and there is also a Provençal market in the medieval centre of the town.

Unless you are going there for the Antiques avoid the market days and enjoy this old Provençal town without the crowds – go to one of the waterside cafés or restaurants and indulge in the charm and atmosphere of the place.
