Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
There is to be an exhibition promoting the organisation and its villages in Paris (on the railings of the Luxembourg Gardens) in the 6th arrondissement) under the banner of “France. Patrimoines & Territoires d’exception“ (France, heritage and special places) 5 March – 3 July 2022. There will be other exhibits including France’s regional parks etc. Explore France from Paris
The Les Plus Beaux Villages de France classification requires that the village meets several criteria, including
- fewer than 2000 inhabitants
- at least two protected sites or monuments and
- must be really beautiful.
Just 164 villages in 14 régions and 70 départements make the official list of the prettiest villages of France (Les Plus Beaux Villages de France)
