Chablis Festival – wine and music

The small town of Chablis (89 Yonne, BFC) gives its name to one of the most important and much appreciated dry white wines of Burgundy. 7-10 July 2018 the town is home to the Chablis Festival Festival du Chablisien.

There s another Chablies Wine Fair in July  La Fête des vins de Chablis
With a varied programme combining music, wine and food this surely symbolises the pleasures at the heart of Frenchness! With music ranging from folk to opera there should be something to please everyone.

Chablis: A wine of oustanding quality is made exclusively from Chardonnay and covers four appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru and Chablis Grand Cru

A rich history, a specific soil, a perfectly suited climate and wine growers who are passionate about their profession: these are the key elements which shape this unique and noble wine.

One of the best white wines in the world comes from the area of north west Burgundy. Monks from the Abbey of Pontigny were the first to plant Chardonnay grapes here on the slopes surrounding the River Serein realising that the microclimate in this area with its cold spring was essential for the dry, honey-scented flavour of the wine. The wines fall into four appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru and Grand Cru. burgundy today
