Nantes,France’s sixth-largest city has been quietly becoming more environment-friendly over the past 10 years, and next year it will be rewarded with the title of green capital of Europe. The city’s eco policies are in evidence everywhere, from great public transport and a high proportion of cyclists, to a new “green” skyscraper, the Tour Végétale, that will be festooned with plants and trees all the way up its 17 storeys.
