Berck-sur-Mer (62 Pas-de-Calais, Hauts de France), south of Boulogne-sur-Mer, hosts the International Kite Festival (Rencontres internationales de cerfs-volants) from 20 – 28 April 2024. The breezy, sandy beaches here in Spring are ideal for witnessing the intricate designs and (usually) graceful flight of these strange “birds of the sky” . The event includes the fiercely contested World Championship – but at other times amateurs can launch their own kites – adding to a colourful scene.
