The quite exceptional Fontevrault Abbey (49 Maine-et-Loire, Pays de la Loire) is not just the burial place of Richard the Lionheart, this exceptional abbey offers the visitor an impressive history of architecture and now a 54 room Hotel and gourmet restaurant .
Located in the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Loire Valley (between Sully-sur-Loire and Chalonnes) the abbey is situated between Saumur and Chinon.
