2 – 7 April 2024 offers 6 days across France when craft studios, workshops etc open their doors to the public with les Journées Européens des Métiers d’Art (European Artistic Craft Days)
For this new edition, the National Institute of Arts and Crafts mobilizes the whole France (metropolitan France and overseas) on for a weekend in Spring to discover a new theme
On the program: workshops openings, collaborations with museums and heritage sites, training centers open days, exhibitions, shows , workshops, thematic tours, etc.
In previous years the European Artistic Crafts Days have highlighted the 217 arts and crafts, their richness and diversity in the areas of conservation-restoration and creation.
Just head for the Crafts in France website at www.journeesdesmetiersdart.com select your region or département and find out what’s on where you are! (available early March)
Amongst the events in previous years have been some of the “most beautiful villages in France”(Plus Beaux Villages de France):
- Angles-sur-L’anglin (86 Vienne, Nouvelle Aquitaine) – embroidery
- Seillans (83 Var, Provence PACA) – corn-making
- Le Bec-Hellouin (27 Eure, Normandie) – pottery
- La Bastide-Clairence (64 Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Nouvelle Aquitaine) -sculpture etc
