Mâcon (71 Saone-et-Loire, Bourgogne – Franche-Comté) carries an awesome reputation for its annual wine fair which awards medals which are proudly displayed on winning bottles – awards highly regarded as being worth more than purely local wine fairs.

20-22 April 2018 Mâcon celebrates its connection with wine with the Vinestival Festival of wine tourism.
This period includes the Macon Wine Fair

in Mâcon, Southern Burgundy, during the world’s biggest wine competition… (Salon des vins de Mâcon)

The festival theme in 2014 was “Exploring the Mâconnais”, in the heart of outstanding countryside, with its villages and vineyards linked together around Mâcon. There will be visits to cellars and vineyards, tastings and a chance to take part in the “Great Wines of France Competition”…
