The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is a sumptuous palace and exotic garden in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferret (06 Alpes-Maritimes, PACA) between Nice and Monaco. Madame Ephrussi was to become one of the greatest collectors of the 20th century. The construction of the Villa took place between 1907 and 1912.
In May 2022, around thirty exhibitors—rose growers, nursery gardeners, and plant professionals—, organised a rendezvous in the Villa’s luxurious gardens, where they displayed their finest plants and flowers to garden lovers. Visitors were able to speak to the exhibiting plant producers and connoisseurs, take part in gardening and flower arranging workshops (which cater for all ages), watch fashion shows of floral dresses, listen to concerts performed in the gardens, go on guided tours of the Villa’s nine thematic gardens, and take advice from the head gardener.
Alongside the rose growers and their colourful stands, other gardening professionals set up their stalls in the French garden, where they displayed rare plants, exotic and Mediterranean flowers, and other plants such as irises and citruses. Special objects and furniture for the garden, gardening tools and accessories, and artistic crafts and traditional skills were also displayed at the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild.
