The village of Mouans-Sartoux , PACA) holds its Honey Festival (Fete du Miel) on Sunday 28 April 2024 Mid-way between Cannes and Grasse in the heart and heat of Provence, there will be workshops on honey production and bee-keeping, cooking with honey, a photographic exhibition on the theme of honey, bees and apiculture – and of course the opportunity to taste – see more
Small honey producers are often a feature of French Markets – the picture above is from Cahors market (46 Lot, Occitanie) where you can bring your own jars to refill. The range of honeys is also impressive, especially if you can do a comparative tasting between say a Lavender honey and a Rosemary honey.

This just sounds amazing! As a honey lover and francophile combined I really appreciate this bit of information on the honey festival. I wish I could attend. I’ve had the experience of comparing lavender and rosemary honeys from Provence, though I’ve had to do it via an online purchase from http://www.splendidpalate.com while it was great fun, no comparison to an in person taste test in the region where they are produced! Thanks for managing such a great and interesting blog. regards, Ami.
