The wine town of Ampuis (69 Rhône, ARA) celebrates the wines of the northern Rhône valley with its 96th Marché aux vins d’Ampuis 17 -20 January 2025
4 days of tastings and meetings with more than 300 wines offered on the 66 winemaker stands. Created in 1928, the Ampuis wine market has become one of the largest wine markets in France. For four days it welcomes a large and varied audience of wine lovers to meet winemakers from the different AOCs of the northern Rhône Valley. it is possible to eat and enjoy a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
Syndicat des Vignerons de Côte-Rôtie
This is the land where Syrah is king (Côte-Rotie, Hermitage) – rich,elegant red wines so different from the wines of the southern Rhône valley. The continental climate of the northern Rhône contrasts with the much warmer Mediterranean climate of the south and tends to produce wines with more of a floral character. Viognier can also be in the blend, and is used for the richly aromatic dry white Condrieu.
The vines are grown on the steep-sided slopes of the Rhône river south of Vienne.
The wine market features 60 wine producers from Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, Hermitage, Saint-Péray and Croze-Hermitage.
