The violin used to be a traditional instrument in this part of southern Burgundy, which all but disappeared. The Morvan is a mountainous area lying just to the west of the Côte d’Or. It is a northerly extension of the Massif Central and a National Park ( Parc naturel régional du Morvan) – an area of wide open spaces, wild and unspoiled nature, lakes, forests, rivers, a territory located in the heart of Burgundy and marked by a strong historical and cultural footprint? – see www.morvantourisme.com/
