xmas tree

Lisieux (14 Calvados, Normandie) holds it traditional Christmas market on the place Mitterand in December.

Don’t miss the choirs singing and the arrival of Father Christmas himself. More than seventy stands sell gifts, food and other Christmas provisions.
Famous for its brilliant white basilica, the annual Christmas mass takes places in the crypt of Saint Theresa’s Basilica at 9.30pm on Christmas Eve.
Lisieux is famous worldwide thanks to Thérèse Martin, better known as Saint Theresa of the Infant Jesus and the town is considered to be the second most important town of pilgrimage in France, with 700,000 people visiting the Basilica, constructed in Saint Theresa’s honour, every year. The Basilica is also the largest church built in France in the 20th century.

Within easy reach of both Caen and Le Havre‘s ferry ports (less than an hour) and 150 km from Paris.
