Every year a skating rink is constructed in front of the famous Hotel de Ville in the heart of Paris – in 2010 it is open from 21 December 2012 – 17 March 2013. There is also to be another skating rink (patinoire) at Montparnasse – but with a synthetic surface.
In the midst of the bustling city centre the sight of young and old, skilful and ungainly gliding aournd in from of one of the major historial landmarks is worth seeing – you could even have a go!
