The Normandy port of Port-en-Bessin-Huppain (14 Calvados, Normandie) holds its Scallop Festival (Le Gout du Large) 9 – 10 November 2024.
Held in the biggest Scallop port in Normandie – the wives of the fishermen demonstrate their prowess with cooking the Scallop and offering tastings; the fishermen demonstrate how they repair the nets, and you can buy Scallops and other freshly-caught fish. The weekend is also a Festival of Sea Shanties (Festival de chants marins d’Europe “Musique sous les embruns”)
Port-en-Bessin is on the Normandy coast near Bayeux and close to Omaha Beach
