Rasteau red wines are luscious and elegant: Complex wines with personality, aromas of red fruit, spices, cocoa, pepper and sometimes leather or liquorice with touches of woodiness in varying degrees. Rasteau rosé wines are fruity and elegant: Rasteau white wines are fresh but full with aromas of white fruit. It is a limited part of our range and regularly earns medals and mentions in the press.
Rasteau Vin Doux Naturel is made solely with Grenache noir. The grapes come from vines 50 to 90 years old with a maximum permitted yield of 30hl per hectare, in other words, less than a bottle per vine. Vinification of Vin Doux Naturel starts in the same way as other wines – rosé for Rasteau Doré, red for Rasteau rouge – but fermentation is subsequently stopped by fortification. These wines are both powerful and mellow and express all the richness of the terroir and climate of Rasteau. Cave de Rasteau
