There are plenty of fine Chateaux around Bordeaux, but few of them offer B&B (Chambres d’Hote) accommodation, and even fewer are as impressive as the Chateau de la Rivière at la Rivière near Fronsac (33 Gironde, Nouvelle Aquitaine) which produces Bordeaux AC and Fronsac AC wines on the northern bank of the River Dordogne about 25 miles east of Bordeaux city.

From here many famous vineyards are within easy reach – St Emilion, Pomerol and Graves as well as many many good wine producers in the Fronsac area, including Chateau de la Riviere itself!
