The French Government has announced plans to extend the high speed train network beyond Bordeaux<\/strong> <\/a>to connect to Agen<\/strong><\/a>, Toulouse<\/strong> <\/a>and another line to Bayonne<\/strong><\/a>, Biarritz<\/strong> <\/a>and the Spanish Border. This is in addition to a new line from Bordeaux north to Tours<\/strong> and the Loire Valley.
\nHowever don’t get too excited just yet – it could be 2020 before these plans are fully realised – and there is a lot of local opposition especially around Agen -the locals reckon that the current arrangements for lower speed connections over traditional lines from Bordeaux<\/strong> are quite adequate.<\/p>\n
