The extraordinary professional cycle race the Tour de France and its accompanying circus and roadshow hit the roads of France in July 29 June – <\/strong> 21 July 2024<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exceptionally, because of the Paris Olympics, the 2024 race will not finish on th Champs Elyseess but in Nice. This year the tour starts in Florence, Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be the first Grand D\u00e9part in Italy\u00a0<\/strong>and the 26th that\u2019s taken place abroad – \u00a0First finale in Nice.\u00a0<\/strong>Due to the Olympic and Paralympic Games taking place in Paris,\u00a0the race will not finish in the French capital for the first time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two time trials.<\/strong>\u00a025 + 34 = 59km in total, the second of them taking place on the final Monaco>Nice stage. This will be the first time the race has seen a finale of this type for 35 years, the last occasion being the famous Fignon – LeMond duel in 1989.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apennines (Italy), the Italian and French Alps, Massif Central and Pyrenees <\/strong>will be the mountain ranges on the 2024 Tour route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 countries visited in 2024:\u00a0Italy, San Marino, Monaco and France.<\/strong>\u00a0Within France, the race will pass through 7 Regions and 30 departments<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8 flat, 4 hilly, 7 mountain stages (with 4 summit finishes at Saint-Lary-Soulan Pla d\u2019Adet, Plateau de Beille, Isola 2000, Col de la Couillole), 2 time trials and 2 rest days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
