The wine town of Ampuis<\/strong> (69 Rh\u00f4ne, ARA<\/em>) celebrates the wines of the northern Rh\u00f4ne valley with its 96th March\u00e9 aux vins d’Ampuis <\/span><\/em><\/strong>17 -20 January 2025 <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

4 days of tastings and meetings with more than 300 wines offered on the 66 winemaker stands. Created in 1928, the Ampuis wine market has become one of the largest wine markets in France. For four days it welcomes a large and varied audience of wine lovers to meet winemakers from the different AOCs of the northern Rh\u00f4ne Valley. it is possible to eat and enjoy a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

This is the land where Syrah is king (C\u00f4te-Rotie, Hermitage) – rich,elegant red wines so different from the wines of the southern Rh\u00f4ne valley. The continental climate of the northern Rh\u00f4ne contrasts with the much warmer Mediterranean climate of the south and tends to produce wines with more of a floral character. Viognier can also be in the blend, and is used for the richly aromatic dry white Condrieu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vines are grown on the steep-sided slopes of the Rh\u00f4ne river south of Vienne.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wine market features 60 wine producers from C\u00f4te-R\u00f4tie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, Hermitage, Saint-P\u00e9ray and Croze-Hermitage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
