Nantes<\/strong> (44 Loire Atlantique, Pays de la Loire<\/em>) is best known for being the major city on the western extremities of the River Loire \u2013 but it is also built on a smaller river, the River Erdre which runs in from the north.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In summer (28 August – 3 September 2023<\/strong><\/span>) the city celebrates a week-long Festival \u201cmeeting on the Erdre<\/strong>\u201d (Rendezvous de l\u2019Erdre<\/em>) \u2013 a very French mix of music (jazz in all its styles from New Orleans to bebop, blues to electric) \u2013 all intertwined with the City\u2019s maritime flavour \u2013 yachts, boats, ships \u2013 lots of cultural events, demonstrations and displays \u2013 80 free concerts across the city!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst in Nantes<\/strong> you could visit the Pommeraye Arcade<\/strong><\/a> (Passage Pommeraye<\/em>), a recently renovated, elegant 19th Century shopping arcade which has been voted as one of the best French landmarks by the French (France2 TV)<\/p>\n\n\n
