The French Alpes offers a rich variety of high-level ski-ing resorts with good access and facilities for all levels of ability and experience. Despite having a good road network, the winter journey down to the Alpes (or Pyrenees) is bit much fun and can be quite tiring. Thanks to seasonal services, seamless transfers, and no excess baggage fees, taking the train to go skiing can now work out faster, and even cheaper, than flying. Choose a ski train direct from London to the Rhône-Alpes, or build your own itinerary with a mix of high-speed or overnight trains.

Flying can be expensive, especially if you are taking your own equipment. But train/Eurostar/TGV can offer a faster, more comfortable and less tiring, especially as some trains go direct from London with no need to change in Lille or Paris. Some travel direct overnight saving even more time.
