John & Caroline Scallan are offering a short stay package based around the rest day of the Tour de France in July 2012, allied with a wine tour of the Jura based at their B&B in Burgundy(Sens-sur-Seille 71)
Are you interested in the Tour ide France? Do you like wine? How about a couple of days that can mix the two? We’re running a combined Tour de France and wine tour of the Jura for a group of between 4 and 6 enthusiasts.
On 2012 “Le Tour” passes close by without actually racing! Stage 9, the Time Trial between Arc et Senans(25 Doubs) and Besancon(25 Doubs), is on Monday 9 July 2012 and, is a straight north-easterly run up, or near, the main N83. Arc et Senans is about 35 miles from here and Besancon is about 58 miles.
Tuesday 10 July 2012 is a rest day so there is the chance to explore the beautiful Jura region and get to know the highly individual wines that come from the area.
Wednesday 11 July 2012 has a stage running from Macon(71 Rhone), about 50 miles south west of here to Bellegarde sur Valserine ( Aine 01), about 75 miles south east of here. The route heads south and then east but we can dispatch you with a hearty breakfast off towards the Cote de Corlier, or anywhere else you’d like to go in good time.
We’re offering a two night break which will cover the nights of Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th July 2012 and features the following:- Two nights B&B accommodation (9th & 10th July) Special “Introduction to Jura Wine” Dinner One day wine tour, including tastings at two wine makers, as well as picnic lunch and sightseeing Transport to and from a local restaurant for evening meal on the second night Picnic lunch for Wednesday 11th July The cost will be €145 per person based on two sharing in our twin or double rooms.
