[ October 12, 2008; ] Another major French spectacle takes place on 12 October 2008 with the annual professional cycle race from Paris to Tours in the Loire Valley. Starting on the outskirts of the capital the route extends over 250km (over 160 miles) and takes about 5-6 hours before arriving in the city centre of Tours.
