There is an Antiques market in the town on Thursday and Sunday mornings in summer, and the town has built its reputations as one of the best places for Antiques throughout the whole of France. But there is much more to the place than that – as the name implies the
town is surrounded buy the waterways of the River Sorgue – creating a wonderfully cool atmosphere when the Provencal sun is at its hottest – with bridges, watermills – and there is also a Provencal market in the medieval centre of the town.
Unless you are going there for the Antiques avoid the market days and enjoy this old Provencal town without the crowds – go to one of the waterside cafés or restaurants and indulge in the charm and atmosphere of the place.
